Metallica's Kirk Hammett and Gibson have teamed up to unveil their latest creation, the Raven signature model acoustic guitar. This distinctive instrument is a limited edition, with only 100 units available worldwide, making it a highly sought-after item for collectors.
The Raven guitar draws inspiration from the classic Gibson Hummingbird, but with a dark, artistic flair. It features a Sitka spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides, all constructed with traditional scalloped Advanced X-bracing. Each guitar was meticulously handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, and comes personally signed by Kirk Hammett on the soundhole label.
The mahogany neck boasts a 16-inch radius and a comfortable round profile, topped with a bound ebony fretboard. This fretboard is adorned with 20 frets and elegant mother-of-pearl star inlays. The headstock proudly displays the Gibson logo alongside a unique mother-of-pearl raven skull inlay, a design motif that is also featured on the included Gibson Custom hardshell case and strap.
For its electronics, the Raven is equipped with an L.R. Baggs Element VTC +4 system. The hardware includes reliable Grover Rotomatic tuners and TUSQ components, such as the nut, saddle, and bridge pins, ensuring optimal performance and tone.
The Gibson Kirk Hammett Raven acoustic guitar is priced at $4,999 and, as of its release, appears to be already sold out on Gibson's official website. However, it may be available through third-party retailers.
